Fashion Project 2 (WEEK1-WEEK4)
WEEK 1
On the first week of the semester we were introduced to the new topic of the semester's project title. The topic was about needlework where we were told to make a research before deciding on what we are going to work on for the rest of the semester.
- Mind-mapping (from your subject matter to your imagination-what are you planning to do/ experiment especially your fabric manipulation relevance towards your subject matter inspiration). On your subject matter, elaborate your research by giving some factual points.
My first mind-map consisted of a research on what type of garment I wanted to focus on during this specific semester. As well as an idea on the subject matter that I was planning to work on.
While doing a research about the type of needle craft that I wanted to focus on, I decided to proceed with the decision of doing embroidery applique and beadings as well as sequins.
WEEK 2
By week 2, we were told to present our project to the lecturer and our ideas. with the help of Mr Jasmi, we eventually landed on a positive agreement on what should be done during the following weeks to come.
By week 2, the subject matter for this project was eventually finalized where I wanted to focus on Micro-Organisms. I also decided on my color palette.
WEEK 3By week 3, I already started exploring different types of manipulations and techniques to apply in my garments.
The below images are needlework of beading, sequin applications and applique technique using tulle fabric. Gradient was achieved by using fabric marker, and applique was carried out by using silver threading.
WEEK 4
By week 4, I had to come up with the mood board, I decided to keep the color palette green which represent my subject matter the most, which is mostly micro organism. " Sketchbook & working journal: For those who choose to develop your designs through photomontage, plz print our a various subject matter images that u had chosen to symbolize in your design, we will also starts to sketch/doodle on your photomontage technique to initiate potential initial ideas to develop."
